Cast Glass & Foam Glass

This form was developed using CAD, by scanning a section of chayote and tessellating it around an axis. By displaying the same form in glass (left) and foam glass (right), the audience is able to gain an instant understanding of the material differences between the two objects. 

 

Through material experimentation, I've developed a way of casting this 3D form into foam glass. Although the execution of the finalised form isn't perfect at this point, my knowledge of this fascinating material is ever-expanding.
