About the event
Discover Wax Carving
In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of wax-carving and create your own ring, pendant or pair of earrings, completely unique to you!
You can either come with a design in mind, or if you're unsure of what to make, choose from a selection of Bonnie's simple designs to create yourself. Wax is easy to shape, allowing for bold, sculptural designs that are hard to achieve with traditional metalworking techniques. Perfect for all abilities!
If you're a keen creative and want to make more than one item during the workshop timeframe, you're more than welcome to!
From Wax To Metal
Your carved design will be sent to a casting company, transformed into metal, and polished up by Bonnie.
Please bear in mind that casting fees are additional, so your ticket covers the cost of the workshop only. At the end of your workshop, an estimate of the cost of casting your item(s) will be provided, and you’ll be asked to pay a deposit before leaving. Once your pieces have been cast, the final cost may vary slightly from your deposit amount due to fluctuations in metal prices. You’ll then receive a final invoice detailing any difference to be settled.
Your casting fee is dependent on the weight, size and metal you'd like to have your item cast in. Here are some guidelines on pricing:
Bronze £35+, Silver £45+, Gold Plated Silver £55+. Casting in Gold is also an option, but please get in touch to discuss.
After the workshop, your jewellery should be ready to wear in 3-4 weeks - it's worth the wait!
Workshops For Everyone
Whether you're learning solo, crafting with a partner, or sharing the experience with friends, all are welcome to come and enjoy a fun experience and learn some new skills along the way!
