Wedding Ring Workshop

An Experience To Cherish

In this special 4-hour workshop, you will create your wedding rings together in wax. You have the option of creating each others rings, or your own, and can personalise with fingerprints or carving little details into the designs.

Design & Create

This workshop has been carefully designed to keep the process approachable and enjoyable, allowing you to learn the the ancient process of wax-carving while creating a pair of rings that you will cherish forever. Complete beginners are welcome.

We will begin by discussing and exploring design ideas, and whether you would like to make each others rings or your own.

You’ll then be introduced to the different waxes, tools and carving techniques used to shape your rings. 

As your confidence grows, and you settle into the process, you can adapt and personalise your designs by adding your own creative touches as you go. We can add fingerprints, textures and carve little details.

From Wax To Metal

After the workshop, your rings will be sent to a trusted casting company where they will be transformed into solid metal using the ancient lost-wax casting technique.

You can choose to have your rings cast in whatever metal you like, such as brass, bronze, silver, yellow gold, white gold, etc.

Please note that this workshop ticket does not include the cost of casting your rings into metal. Pricing is dependant on the weight and metal chosen for each ring. We will weigh the rings at the end of the workshop to work out estimate casting costs.

Guidelines on pricing: Brass/Bronze £25+, Silver £45+, Solid 9ct Gold £230+

Once your rings are cast, you will be sent a pay link for your castings. When you rings return from casting, Bonnie will carefully clean and polish them in her studio. You can choose to have your rings posted to you, or collect them in person.

The estimated turnaround time is 4 weeks from the workshop date.

Refreshments

Bonnie will provide a small selection of refreshments during the workshop like tea, coffee & sweet treats. Please make her aware of any dietary requirements beforehand.

Typical time slots that work well 10:00 - 14:00 (morning) or 14:00 - 18:00 (afternoon), though timings can be flexible to suit your needs.

Workshops can be held either at Bonnie’s studio in City Business Park, Plymouth, or at a location of your choice. If you'd like to host the workshop elsewhere, please get in touch to discuss suitability. Additional fees may apply depending on the distance from central Plymouth and any venue hire costs. Kindly note that any external venue must be suitable for the workshop and approved by the location’s manager in advance.
